Request a Data Processing Agreement

Updated in September 2026

When schools deploy classroom software that handles student rosters or classroom records, administrators need formal assurance that privacy standards are met. For ClassHelper, you can request a compliant Data Processing Agreement (DPA) directly through our school licensing department.

Requesting the Agreement

Requesting a DPA is straightforward and designed to fit into standard school district procurement cycles:

  1. Visit our School Licensing page or reach out directly to request our standard Data Processing Agreement.
  2. Forward the document to your school leadership, administrative team, or district data privacy officer.
  3. Complete the institution details: legal name of the school or district, mailing address, and authorized administrative signatory.
  4. Return the signed agreement via email. You will receive a countersigned copy for your district compliance records.

We recommend requesting the DPA alongside your school license quote so district administrative boards can review both items in a single meeting.

What the Agreement Covers

Our Data Processing Agreement reflects international privacy standards including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and United States student privacy guidelines (FERPA):

  1. Subject Matter and Duration: Defines the exact scope of data processing and the duration of your school license.
  2. Categories of Data: Clarifies that ClassHelper only handles class rosters and basic account information. Full student names and sensitive personal records are never required.
  3. Technical and Organizational Measures: Details encryption standards, access control policies, backup routines, and server infrastructure located in Germany within the European Union.
  4. Subprocessors: Transparently lists infrastructure providers, their locations, and data protection safeguards.

Billing data is strictly separated from instructional materials. ${stripeSentence} For site delivery, content caching, and DDoS mitigation, Cloudflare is utilized.

Information for Data Privacy Officers

School data protection officers typically need specific technical details before approving instructional software:

  1. Privacy Documentation: Review our complete Privacy Policy detailing service providers, legal bases, and retention schedules.
  2. Local Browser Storage: Basic classroom whiteboard sessions run entirely in the browser without accounts, storing lesson plans in local browser storage on the teacher device.
  3. Data Minimization: ClassHelper recommends using student initials or first names only, as outlined in our guide on creating class rosters.
  4. Server Infrastructure: All cloud-stored boards and teacher accounts are hosted in secure data centers in Germany.

Many districts maintain formal registries of instructional processing activities. The four points above provide the exact technical specifications needed for district documentation.

Summary

Request your school DPA through our school licensing department; we provide countersigned documents ready for district review. Class rosters stay minimal, servers are located in Germany, and billing data remains strictly isolated.
