How the Classroom Camera Stream works

The Classroom Camera Stream transforms standard USB document cameras, visualizers, and webcams into instant teaching tools. When a teacher needs to showcase an authentic student essay, dissect a flower bud, or model math manipulatives, the camera widget projects the live feed with exceptional clarity.

Because ClassHelper leverages standard browser media APIs, you avoid dealing with proprietary hardware software suites or IT driver permissions. Launch the widget, grant browser camera access, and position the live video anywhere on your interactive display.

Step by step

  1. Connect your document camera or webcam to your classroom computer via USB.
  2. Open ClassHelper and add the Camera widget from the media toolbar.
  3. Grant camera permission in your browser prompt and select your visualizer input device.
  4. Adjust zoom, flip orientation, or mirror the feed to align with your physical tabletop.
  5. Place the live stream alongside assignment rubrics or timers during student work periods.

Using Classroom Camera Stream in the classroom

Live handwriting and math modeling. Place base-ten blocks, fraction tiles, or lined notebook paper under your visualizer so all students observe proper problem setups clearly.

Student work celebration and critique. Invite students to place exemplary written responses or creative sketches under the camera for supportive peer evaluation and class discussion.

Science dissections and specimen examination. Magnify small geological rocks, insects, or plant leaves, giving students in the back row equal access to delicate lab demonstrations.

Art technique demonstrations. Model delicate brush techniques, origami folds, or clay sculpting steps live on screen while students follow along at their desks.

Can I display the camera stream next to a timer or notes?

Yes. The camera feed runs in a resizable board widget, allowing you to display timers, rubrics, and instructions beside your live document view.
