Classroom Jobs Chart

Display and rotate weekly student responsibilities on your board

Board cleaner, line leader, plant waterer: students care deeply about their weekly classroom roles, but remembering who is assigned to which task causes daily confusion. The classroom jobs chart displays student responsibilities clearly on your screen, rotating duties forward with a single tap.

“Classroom Jobs Chart” is a tool by ClassHelper, the free digital whiteboard for teachers. It runs directly in your browser with no account required and servers in Germany.

How the Classroom Jobs Chart works

The Classroom Jobs Chart creates an organized, transparent system for delegating daily and weekly responsibilities. Instead of managing velcro strips, paper wheels, or handwritten index cards that get lost, teachers maintain a clean digital helper chart on their interactive screen.

You set up your desired jobs, choose illustrative icons, and input student first names. When a new school week begins, tapping rotate advances every student to the next duty automatically, giving everyone an equitable opportunity to contribute to classroom community routines.

    Step by step

    1. Open your ClassHelper board on your interactive display and launch the Classroom Jobs Chart widget.
    2. Enter your classroom duties, assigning an intuitive icon to each job from line leader to supply distributor.
    3. Add your student first names or import an existing roster from another ClassHelper tool.
    4. Set the required number of student helpers for each duty and mark any currently absent pupils.
    5. Tap rotate on Monday morning to shift duties forward or randomize assignments for a fresh rotation.

Using Classroom Jobs Chart in the classroom

Building community ownership. Giving learners defined classroom jobs fosters responsibility and mutual respect. When duties are visibly projected on the board, students check their responsibilities independently without waiting for teacher instructions.

Effortless weekly rotations. Forget tracking who completed which task on a paper clipboard. The sequential rotation algorithm ensures every child cycles through desirable jobs like line leader and line Caboose fairly over the school year.

Managing paired partner jobs. High-effort tasks like organizing classroom library bins or distributing heavy art supplies run smoother with two partners. Assigning pairs through the jobs chart also promotes collaboration between students who may not regularly interact.

Smooth substitute transitions. When a substitute teacher leads the room, an active jobs chart clearly identifies reliable student helpers for running school errands, operating audio equipment, or collecting exit slips.

Frequently asked questions about Classroom Jobs Chart

Is the Classroom Jobs Chart free for schools?

Yes. The classroom jobs chart is completely free to use directly in your browser without any account creation or software installation.

Where are student names and job assignments stored?

Student first names and job lists remain stored locally in your browser storage. If you create an account, layouts sync to secure servers in Germany. We use Stripe Payments Europe (Dublin, Ireland) to process payments. Only billing data goes there, never student or lesson data.

Can jobs rotate automatically each week?

Yes. You can rotate duties forward so each student advances to the next classroom job in sequence, or randomize assignments if your class prefers a weekly draw.

How does the chart handle absent students?

You can temporarily mark any student as absent. The chart automatically skips absent learners during rotation, ensuring critical duties like door holder or board wiper are never left unstaffed.

Can multiple students share a single classroom job?

Yes. You can configure individual roles for one, two, or three student helpers. Pairing students works well for larger tasks such as tidying library corners or distributing science supplies.

How student and classroom data is protected is detailed in our ClassHelper privacy policy.
