Using Classroom Teaching Tools
Timers, noise meters, random name pickers, and stopwatches are interactive widget cards you can place anywhere on the digital whiteboard canvas. Once your whiteboard is open, you can launch any widget from the bottom toolbar.
Adding a Widget to the Whiteboard
- Look at the toolbar docked at the bottom of the canvas. It highlights frequently used classroom tools.
- Click any tool icon, such as the Classroom Timer. Its card appears on the canvas.
- If the tool you need is not in the primary dock, click More on the right side to browse all 35 widgets.
- Click and drag the card header to move it. Drag card corners to resize widgets for optimal visibility.
Select Customize Toolbar in the More menu to choose which tools appear in your primary dock for everyday instruction.
Adjusting Widget Settings
Each widget provides custom pedagogical settings—such as sensitivity and chime options on the Noise Meter, or countdown duration on the timer:
- Click a widget card to select it.
- Press S on your keyboard or click the gear icon in the widget header.
- Adjust settings such as alarm tones, colors, or visual themes. Changes apply immediately.
- Click anywhere outside the card or press Esc to close settings.
Arranging, Duplicating, and Pinning Tools
Keyboard shortcuts make widget management effortless during class:
- Repositioning: Select a card and nudge it using the arrow keys (5 pixels, or 20 pixels with Shift).
- Duplicating: Press Shift + D to create a second identical widget (for example, setting two concurrent timers for differentiated student groups).
- Locking Position: Press Shift + L to lock a widget in place so it cannot be accidentally moved while writing with a stylus.
- Removing: Press Delete to remove a selected widget. Press Ctrl + Z to undo an accidental removal.
To keep a widget visible across every slide in your lesson—such as an overarching work period timer—select the widget and press Shift + P to pin it across slides.
Summary
Add widgets from the bottom dock, resize and reposition them freely, and press S to open settings. Press Delete to clear widgets, Shift + P to pin across slides, and K to view all shortcuts.
