Share Whiteboards with Colleagues

Updated in September 2026 Applies to Computer, Tablet

When you design an engaging whiteboard layout, sharing it with grade-level colleagues, student teachers, or substitute educators saves valuable preparation time. This guide covers sharing options in ClassHelper.

Sharing via Offline File Export

The fastest way to share teaching materials without requiring cloud accounts:

  1. Open Account from the whiteboard sidebar menu.
  2. Under Data Management, click Export all data as file.
  3. Send the downloaded JSON file to your colleague via email, school cloud drive, or USB drive.
  4. The file includes your lesson collections, folders, and student class rosters in readable JSON format.

Lesson Collection Menu Actions

From the My Lesson Collections overview page, each lesson card features an action menu:

  1. Hover over any lesson card and click the three-dot menu icon.
  2. Select Open in New Tab to preview a lesson alongside your active classroom board.
  3. Click Duplicate to create a clone of an existing lesson before modifying it for an advanced or differentiated class section.
  4. The Public Share Link option is a Premium feature: in the free version it displays feature details, while Premium generates a shareable web link. Learn more in Premium Features.

Collaboration with Premium and School Licenses

Premium unlocks seamless cloud sharing without manual file transfers:

  1. Premium ($2.49/month, first month free) automatically synchronizes your lesson boards between your home computer, classroom projector, and tablet.
  2. Generate public view-only links to share lesson summaries with absent students or parents.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues by sharing direct copy links to your board layouts.

For whole departments or school buildings, School Volume Licensing offers volume pricing at $1.49 per teacher per month following a six-month free trial.

Summary

Share materials for free using Export all data as file under Account settings. Duplicate lesson cards for different class sections, and use Premium for instant cloud sync and public share links.
